Introduction

You are welcome to the home page of the Centre for Advancement, University of Ilorin, Nigeria which is generally referred to as Unilorin Centre for Advancement (UCA).

The general functions of the Unilorin Centre for Advancement (UCA) is all encompassing which include attraction of donations, funds, endowment & prizes, and investments  from the university’s Alumni bodies and individuals, donor agencies & foundations, endowment partners, government & non-governmental organizations towards the maintenance and development of teaching, research, and other infrastructures in the University.

On behalf of the management of the University of Ilorin, Nigeria under the able leadership of Professor Wahab Olasupo EGBEWOLE, SAN, I deeply appreciate the numerous supports and interventions so far received from highly spirited distinguished members of the society, Unilorin Alumni bodies & members, donor agencies and investors towards the development and maintenance of teaching, research and other infrastructures in the university.  

The Background

In 2011, the Senate of the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, with the approval of the Council, founded the Centre for Advancement of the university. This hub is dedicated to various strategic advancement activities aimed at fostering the growth and development of the University. The Centre for Advancement’s building is currently situated between the General Studies Division and the Department of Geology in the university.

Brief Introduction

The Unilorin Centre for Advancement (UCA) was established by the Senate of the University of Ilorin, Nigeria, with the approval of the council in the year 2011 as a unit under the Vice-Chancellor’s office. The UCA was established to function as the link between the University of Ilorin, Nigeria and the rest of the world in the areas of attracting funds, donations, endowments, and investments 

The Mandate

The general mandate of the Unilorin Centre for Advancement (UCA) is to develop strategies to attract funds and investments towards the actualization of the mission and vision of the university. It is equally expected of the UCA to communicate the university’s mission, vision, and achievements to various stakeholders which include the Alumni, donors, investors, and the general public.

In more specific terms, the core mandate for establishing the Centre for Advancement, University of Ilorin, Nigeria stands on the following tripod that literally defined its fundamental functions:
