LIST OF FUNCTIONS OF THE CENTRE ARE AS VIZ:-

THE PROCEDURES OF CARRING OUT EACH FUNCTIONS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

  1. ENDOWMENT:- The Centre through the Director will interacting with the Alumni on how they could embrace endowment in any form either by placing certain amount on any programme of their choice so as to encourage the other in-schooling students, or by endowment inform of giving lecture, especially from the diaspora if we able to get qualified expert with special talent in such field to virtually give lecture to the students on the specific courses/topic.  In the case of endowment for student by cash, this requires that the amount to be endowed for what and for how many years should be well spelt out.
  2. ALUMNI RELATIONS:-The Centre is to ensure that every engagements of Alumni Association in which the Director is being invited are usually honored by the Director with the approval of the Vice-Chancellor.  This is to foster high profile relationship with the Alumni to ensure a strong bond between the University and the Alumni.
  3. FUND RAISING:- The Centre is to strive hard to approach the Alumni and friends of the University who are willing to donate anything either in cash, goods, properties, and other things to the University.  This is to make improve the quality of Unit/Depts./Faculty with which the donation is made.  It may also improve the quality of structure in the University environment.
  4. SOURCING FOR CONVOCATION LECTURER IN CONJUNCTION WITH CHAIRMAN CEREMONIAL COMMITTEE:- Over the years, the Centre IN CONJUNCTION WITH Chairman ceremonial committee has been responsible for the search of a convocation lecturer who will inspire the audience with their lecture during the convocation ceremonies of the University.  This we do by approaching the notable, credible and reputable people in the society and offshore at international level.
  5. SOURCING FOR GIFTS TO THE UNVERSITY:-  This is usually done through reaching out to Alumni and friends of the university for gifts and by recording and applying the gifts appropriately for what is/are meant for,  we ensure that donated money (if any) gets to the account they are meant for.
  6. DEVELOPMENT OF THE UNIVERSITY:-   This we do through public -private-partnership (PPP) to build hostels accommodation for students on the university campus.  This has greatly improve the architectural structure of the campus and also easy the accommodation problems of the students to a reasonable extent.
  7. ADVANCEMENT CONFERENCE/WORKSHOP/LECTURE:- This is by organizing advancement conference and /or workshop for both teaching and non-teaching staff of the university to help them benefit from wealth of experience of one another and also for students, the Advancement Lecture will make them gain insight into what life is all about and what how to be independent to earn a good living, especially at this period of global economic meltdown. The Centre could also responsible for Advancement services training workshop for both students and staff in the university community. This will provide opportunities for staff and students to have a regular update on their current and future undertakings.
  8. COLLABORATION AND PARTNERSHIP:- The Centre is to endeavor to collaborate with individual, agencies or industries to help improve the university community as a whole for both student and staff to benefit. Partnership is also essential through memorandum of understanding (MoU) to make the university get some essential things students and staff could benefit from.
  9. ALUMNI-IN-DIASPORA RE-UNION:- The Centre is responsible for reaching Unilorin Alumni-in-Diaspora working and residing in USA, UK, Canada, France, Germany, Australia, etc. and organize a re-union programme. This is to encourage Alumni-in-Diaspora to mobilize resources as an individual or team to the university annually.
